Water Rappelling
Adventurers are always on the lookout for newer avenues to quench their thirst for excitement. As we were in the search of a good adventurous vacation, Vishal dada sent us the invitation for the water rappelling near the Morbe dam which was arranged on 7th of August. The water rappelling activity was arranged by Nisargamitra, Panvel. My first experience with them during Mahuli Range Trek was amazing, so I immediately filled out the activity form.
As always Alankar mama was there but this time Pratik dada and Ishwari were also with us. On the 7th of August morning at 6:15, we left our dwelling. Today after many days I was going to meet Sushant dada, It has been a long time since we have done trekking together. To my surprise his both daughters Parnika and Dwitika were also participating in this activity. We picked up Pratik dada and Vishal dada and then started our journey towards the meet-up point. Baba Dairy was a meet-up point for all of us, As soon as the first batch of people arrived we moved towards the breakfast point from which the activity spot was only 10 minutes away. The breakfast was arranged by the Nisrgamitra, breakfast consisted of Vada Pav and Chai. After having good interaction with all batchmates as well as organizers. We moved towards the activity point.
It was my first water rappelling activity so I was super excited but a little bit nervous too. As we reached the activity point, harnesses, helmets, and gloves were given to wear. Organizers helped us to wear the harness properly. All the organizers were very kind and helpful. I went first from our group for the activity, I was carrying a drybag in which there were mobile phones. So there is no video of me while performing the activity. Pratik dada took some of my photos during the start of an activity. This time also Nitish dada was there for belay support. He supported me a lot while climbing from Kalyan Darwaja during the Mahuli range trek. Proper instruction was given by the instructor about how to perform the activity and all. It was 100 feet cliff which we rappelled. The cold water was pouring on us and simultaneously step by step we were rappelling down. The experience at that moment is unexplainable, I really felt that "this is the adventure I want". Above us, the Sodai fort was clearly visible in the blue sky. As I reached the bottom, Matheran's beauty healed my all pain and exhaustion. Matheran hill was looking so beautiful that for some time I just kept looking at it. Ten as other group members started rappelling, I removed the mobile phone from the dry bag and started shooting videos and taking photos of them. After everyone arrived we started to climb up from the normal route towards the breakfast point where we had parked our cars. We handed over the harnesses, helmets, and gloves to the organizers and te moved on to change our clothes.
